THIRST Mod — adds a thirst meter so survival isn’t just food anymore; you’ve gotta manage drinking too.
THIRST Mod is one of those Minecraft Bedrock / MCPE addons that instantly makes survival feel more “real” without turning it into a complicated simulator. Normally you can live forever as long as you keep snacks on you, but this mod adds a second pressure bar: thirst. Now your routine changes. Long mining trips, nether runs, and wandering around looking for structures aren’t just “do I have enough food?” anymore, it’s “am I gonna run dry before I get back?” That extra meter makes you plan your days a little more, and it makes early-game survival feel way more tense because you can’t ignore basic resources.
The water system is simple and easy to understand. You take a normal Water Bottle and purify it by placing it on a campfire or putting it in a furnace. That’s a clean survival loop because it uses stuff you already build early: campfires for light and vibe, furnaces for cooking and smelting. So it doesn’t feel like you’re learning a whole new crafting tree—just a new habit. If you’re the kind of player who always carries extra bottles for potions later, THIRST Mod makes bottles useful right away, and it turns your base into a little “restock station” where you prep purified water before heading out.
The UI part is straightforward too. You can monitor your thirst levels right down by your hotbar, so you’re not guessing or digging through menus. That’s huge for survival flow, because you’ll actually notice the meter dropping while you’re fighting, building, or sprinting, and you’ll start making smarter choices like carrying extra purified water for longer runs or setting up quick campfires on travel routes. It also makes multiplayer more interesting, because players who overextend get punished harder, and teams naturally start planning supplies before big trips.
THIRST Mod is perfect if you want survival to feel tougher in a natural way. Food keeps you alive, but now hydration matters too, so every expedition feels like a real trip you prepare for instead of a casual jog into danger.
