Betafied Mod — a Bedrock add-on + texture pack that rebuilds the Beta 1.7.3 vibe with classic terrain, old-school rules, and a stripped-back survival loop.

Betafied Mod is for Minecraft Bedrock / MCPE players who miss when the game felt simpler, meaner, and way more “make it work with what you’ve got.” It’s not just a visual throwback. Betafied is trying to recreate the golden age of Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 by doing two things at once: bringing back that classic terrain generation and rewriting gameplay rules so it actually plays like Beta, not like modern Minecraft wearing a retro skin. If you ever wanted Bedrock to feel like the era where every hill looked weirdly epic and survival was more about raw resources than leveling systems, this pack is built for that.

The world side is all about Authentic Beta Generation. You’re getting pre-generated classic terrain that’s meant to feel like those old screenshots: big slopes, strange valleys, and that “I can’t believe this spawned” energy. Vegetation gets cleaned up too—modern flowers like cornflowers and tulips are replaced with poppies and dandelions, which instantly changes the look of plains and forests back to that simple, iconic palette. It’s a small detail, but it’s one of those things your brain recognizes immediately if you played back then.

Gameplay parity is where Betafied Mod goes hard. Hunger is gone, so food restores health instantly, which brings back that old survival rhythm where you’re managing hearts directly instead of watching a hunger bar tick down. Sprinting is removed, keeping movement slower and making distance feel bigger like it used to. Bows get a “machine gun” instant fire rate, which is chaotic in a very Beta way and makes ranged combat feel totally different. You also get a restored achievement system with 16 achievements, bringing back that satisfying message pop when you hit milestones. Boats go back to classic crash behavior where they break into planks and sticks, petrified oak returns with wooden slabs as hard as stone, and XP/enchanting are removed so progression is more about mining, building, and surviving with what you find, not grinding levels. Even mob behavior is tuned toward that old feel, with running creepers, a standing skeleton vibe, and jumping animals to mimic the weird old AI quirks.

Inventory rules add one more layer of nostalgia pain in the best way. Food becomes unstackable again, so you can’t just carry a single stack of porkchops and call it a day—you actually feel the inventory squeeze like you did in Beta. And there’s an item whitelist system that auto-converts or removes modern items (like copper, deepslate, netherite), turning them into classic counterparts (stone, cobble, iron) or wiping them out, which keeps the world from drifting into modern progression by accident. Betafied Mod is basically a full “time machine” for Minecraft Bedrock: classic terrain, classic limits, classic quirks, and that old-school survival pressure where the game feels raw again.
