Grappling Hook Addon

Mods / Mods 1.21

Grappling Hook Mod — a momentum-based swing tool that makes Bedrock movement feel way more alive without killing achievements.

This Grappling Hook addon drops a craftable grappling hook item into Minecraft Bedrock and basically turns your world into a playground for parkour routes, cave dives, and mountain climbs. You aim at any surface, use the item to fire, and it creates an instant anchor point where the hook lands. From there you can swing in a real curved path instead of just getting yanked in a straight line, so it actually feels like you’re building speed and carrying it through turns. The momentum system is the sick part: if you’re already moving when you shoot, the hook flies faster and your swing feels snappier, which makes chaining jumps and keeping flow way easier.

Controls are simple and don’t feel like a million commands. Aim, use item to shoot, then jump for auto-pull or hold jump for manual pulling depending on how you want to move. When you’re done, switching items removes the hook so you’re not stuck dangling like an idiot. It also has a built-in fall damage protection window (5 seconds) which is clutch when you misjudge a swing, clip a block edge, or launch yourself off a cliff while you’re learning the timing. That little safety net makes it usable in real survival instead of being a “cool once, then I die” gimmick.

The mod’s clearly going for physics that feel smooth: acceleration and deceleration, rope tension, and even rope breaking, so you can’t just spam it like a cheat. Because it’s achievement friendly, it’s perfect for survival worlds, Realms, and adventure maps where you want better traversal without turning the game into creative mode. Just keep in mind it’s early stage, so expect the occasional weird moment—like a hook that lands funky or a swing that feels off—especially if you’re lagging or swapping items too fast. But when it’s working right, it’s the kind of addon that makes you take the long way home on purpose.
