BetterChatRanks – clean, customizable ranks for your server chat.

Running a server without ranks in chat feels kinda bland. You’ve got admins, mods, VIPs, and regular players, but in chat everyone looks the same. That’s where BetterChatRanks comes in. This addon adds fully customizable ranks that show up next to names, both in chat and above player names, so roles are always clear. No more confusion about who’s staff, who’s trusted, or who’s just a new player.

The system is simple. You use tags to assign roles, like /tag @s add admin, and boom—you’re an Admin in chat. Mods, VIPs, or custom roles can be set up the same way. Messages get clean tags like [Admin] Steve or [VIP] Alex, and the formatting makes it pop without looking messy. It’s lightweight but feels polished, perfect for servers that want to look professional without overcomplicated plugins.

One of the coolest features is dimension indicators. When someone talks in chat, you’ll see a little icon showing if they’re in the Overworld, Nether, or End. That’s actually super handy for coordination—if your buddy’s screaming for help, you instantly know which dimension to jump into.

Setup is quick: just turn on Beta APIs in Experimental settings, drop the addon into your world, and use /ranks to manage stuff. You don’t need complicated configs—it works right out of the box.

This addon shines on Realms and survival servers, but even in small private worlds it makes things way cleaner. It helps with roleplay, adds personality to the chat, and makes sure everyone knows who’s who. If you want your chat to look sharp and organized, BetterChatRanks is the move.
