Basic Waypoints – fast travel without cheats.
Running across huge Minecraft worlds gets old quick. You build a base, then a mine, then a farm 2,000 blocks away, and suddenly half your playtime is just holding W. The Basic Waypoints mod fixes that without breaking achievements or forcing you into cheats. It lets you drop waypoints anywhere, then teleport between them like a clean fast-travel system built right into the game.
The setup is super simple. You craft the waypoint block, place it, and give it a name. That spot is now locked in. Build another waypoint somewhere else, and suddenly you’ve got a travel network. Instead of building endless rails or spamming boats, you just hop between locations. It feels natural and keeps the grind focused on building and exploring, not wasting time running.
The best part? Achievements still work. This isn’t a janky creative-only trick. You can stay in full survival with your achievements intact, which makes it perfect for long-term worlds and Realms. On servers, it’s even better—players can each set up their own network of waypoints to link towns, farms, and bases.
It also keeps balance. You’re not instantly teleporting anywhere—you need to have placed a waypoint first. That means you still have to explore on foot to set it up. It doesn’t kill the survival challenge; it just makes revisiting places way less painful.
If you’re building big or playing with friends, Basic Waypoints is one of those mods that makes the game feel way more modern without losing the vanilla survival vibe. Once you use it, going back to walking everywhere feels like torture.
