Craftable Spawners Addon

Mods / Mods 1.21

Craftable Spawners — catch a mob, make the farm.

This addon lets you do two big things in survival: turn a living mob into its spawn egg, and turn broken spawners into placeable spawners you can set up anywhere. The flow is simple and it actually plays great.

First piece is the Empty Egg. Keep at least 5 XP levels on you, smack any mob with the egg, and it blinks out while you get that mob’s spawn egg back. It works on vanilla mobs and most addon mobs, so you can “bottle” rare stuff you find out in the wild (wandering traders, witch, slime in a rare chunk, even custom creatures from other packs). It’s the easiest way to move villagers without boats or rails, or to bring a single cave spider up to the surface for a farm.

Second piece is Spawner Shards. Break a natural spawner and you’ll get 1–4 fragments. Craft 8 shards into a fresh spawner, place it, then (as you’d expect) use a spawn egg on it to assign what it should spawn. Now you can drop a skeleton spawner next to your base, or put a slime spawner over a kill chamber and stop hunting chunks like a lunatic.

A few tips from actually using it: bring Silk Touch only if your pack requires it—otherwise a normal pick is fine since the shard drop comes from breaking, not harvesting. Build your farm first (water streams, drop chute, trident killer or fall damage), then place the spawner last so you’re not fighting spawns while you wire things. Use the Empty Egg on one clean target at a time so you don’t waste hits in a crowd. And if you’re running a Realm, set house rules—portable spawners can flip your economy fast.

Bottom line: Craftable Spawners turns lucky dungeon finds and random mob encounters into planned farms. Catch the mob you need, craft the spawner you want, and put it where it actually helps your world.
