Fours Exploding Animals Mod — Cute… until someone swings. Then the “sheep” becomes a booby trap with teeth.
You’re not placing TNT under carpets anymore; you’re walking a flock of decoys into the story and letting curiosity do the rest. These critters idle and wander like normal livestock until a player tags one, and that’s when the pop goes off. The charm is how naturally they blend into a survival scene. Park a couple near a path raiders love to sprint down, or mix fakes into a roadside pen that looks like free food. The first jab turns into a boom, the chaser loses momentum, and you suddenly own the angle with bow or axe while they’re busy eating knockback. Because you craft them from simple materials, you can restock after a good prank without turning the session into a grind.
Think placement, not spam. Keep explosive animals away from your storage wall and anything you care about; let them live out front where fights start. If you’re running them close to builds, drop each one into a shallow water trough so the blast chews players, not blocks—water soaks most of the damage to terrain while still punishing whoever swung. Bridges are perfect. Park a “stray chicken” at mid, bait a chase, and slip behind a pillar while your friend taps it from safety. In narrow alleys, angle decoys so the shock pushes enemies sideways into a dead end you already prepped with trapdoors and a quick two-hit cleanup. You’re not trying to delete people from full—just to flip momentum at the worst possible second for them.
On Realms and servers, the social game is half the fun. Build a little petting zoo outside town during events and let the bravest volunteer “feed” the goats. For friendlier worlds, set house rules: decoys outside the walls only, never inside player homes, and always help repair if a prank scuffs a path. If you want a high-chaos minigame, scatter decoys across a farm maze and run timed laps; every hit is a penalty, every clean weave is points on the board. In PvP hubs, rotate real animals with fakes between matches so nobody can memorize the safe pattern, and switch biomes—chickens in plains, rabbits in desert, cod along a dock—so the set dressing always feels different.
Handle them safely when you’re the one doing chores. Sheathe weapons before you hop fences, don’t swing at anything you didn’t place, and mark “hot” pens with a color band or banner only your team recognizes. If you must clear a decoy, stand off and use ranged hits to trigger it while you hide behind a pillar or dunk it in a one-block pool. Mobile players should nudge sensitivity down for tight pens so a jittery thumb doesn’t tap a target by mistake; controller and keyboard players can bind attack to something you won’t fat-finger when you’re just trying to feed. The mod doesn’t add infinite power; it adds a pressure valve you can open at the perfect beat. A harmless-looking herd becomes a warning siren, and a normal path becomes your stage. Craft a few, set the scene, and let overconfidence write your punchline.
