SYCURE'S Dynamic Lighting And Offhand Mod — finally lets Bedrock feel like those Java runs where your torch lights the way while you keep your sword ready.
With SYCURE'S Dynamic Lighting And Offhand Mod installed, stepping into caves, mineshafts, or dark forests stops being that annoying “place a torch every few blocks” routine. You hold a torch, glowstone, copper bulb, or another supported light source in your hand and the world around you actually lights up as you move. You can walk, sneak, or sprint and watch the shadows slide back in real time instead of building a permanent trail of torches just to see what’s in front of you. It still feels like normal Minecraft Bedrock or MCPE, just with that smooth, responsive light following you wherever you go.
The big change is the offhand system. You can keep a torch in your offhand while your main hand handles the important stuff: sword, pickaxe, bow, or whatever tool you’re grinding with. Mining becomes way more fluid because you’re not constantly swapping back and forth to place light, and exploring tight caves or ravines feels safer when your weapon is always out. It’s especially nice on mobile, where hotbar juggling is already clumsy; being able to dig, fight, and see at the same time makes survival runs a lot less frustrating. The addon is built to stay friendly for both survival and creative, so you can drop it into long-term worlds without turning everything upside down.
SYCURE'S Dynamic Lighting And Offhand Mod also bakes in support for the Copper Update lighting blocks, which is great if you like decorating bases with newer textures instead of just spamming old-school torches. Walking around your copper-lit base at night with handheld light sources feels clean and modern, and builders get a better sense of how their rooms look when someone is actually moving through them. Because it doesn’t rely on experimental features and is optimized for mobile, you can safely throw it into regular Bedrock worlds, realms, or modded packs without worrying that it’ll instantly tank performance. As long as you don’t go crazy forcing dozens of players to hold lights in the same tiny room, it stays smooth.
In multiplayer, this addon quietly upgrades almost everything you already do. Exploration parties can split up without one person constantly stopping to light the way, horror or roleplay maps look way better when characters are walking with live light instead of flicking torches onto every wall, and late-game builders can tour their bases at night and see every hallway and staircase the way players will actually see it. If you’ve ever been jealous of Java’s offhand torches and wanted that same feel on Bedrock with some extra polish and Copper Update support, SYCURE'S Dynamic Lighting And Offhand Mod is one of those “install once and never remove it” quality-of-life upgrades.
