Java Combat: Sweeping Edge & Blood Effects Addon

Mods 26 [1.26] / Mods 1.21

Java Combat: Sweeping Edge & Blood Effects Mod — a Bedrock combat addon that adds Java-style sword sweep attacks with AOE damage plus punchier blood particles on hits.

Java Combat: Sweeping Edge & Blood Effects Mod is for anyone who’s sick of combat feeling like mindless tap-spam. The whole point is to bring that Java Edition sword sweep vibe over to Bedrock, especially for mobile players who want fights to feel more like actual swings instead of single-target pokes. This isn’t framed as a simple visual swap either—it uses the Script API to change how weapons behave, so the combat difference isn’t just “it looks cooler,” it actually changes how your sword hits in a crowd.

The headline feature is the sweeping edge attack. When you use a sword, you’ll get that white sweeping trail animation and the hit turns into area damage. So if you tag a zombie and there’s a skeleton right next to it, the nearby mob can also take damage and get knocked back instead of standing there untouched. That little change makes a huge difference in real survival situations where mobs stack up in tight spaces. Think caves where everything funnels into one tunnel, or nighttime fights where you’re backing up and trying not to get surrounded. With the sweep attack, you’re not forced to pick targets one by one while the rest of the pack closes in—you can control the crowd and create breathing room just by landing clean sword hits.

It also shines in grindy spots where you’re usually stuck clicking forever. In XP farms or any “pile of mobs in a box” setup, sweeping AOE means you can clear groups faster and with less annoying target switching. It’s also just more fun when the game throws a mess at you—like a sudden horde moment where you’re juggling knockback, spacing, and staying alive. You still have to play smart, but it feels like your weapon is built for crowds instead of pretending every fight is a 1v1.

The second feature is the blood effects. Every time you hit a mob, you’ll see red blood particles, and critical hits (jump hits) kick out even more. It’s basically instant feedback that makes combat feel less empty, especially in PvP and PvE where hits can sometimes feel weirdly quiet. You land a swing, you see the impact, and it adds that extra “yeah, that connected” feeling without needing damage numbers on your screen. Put both features together and Java Combat: Sweeping Edge & Blood Effects Mod turns Bedrock fights into something that feels more physical: sweeping crowd hits when it matters, plus hit feedback that makes every swing feel more real.
