The Crying Obsidian Pack is the perfect endgame equipment overhaul for anyone who feels like standard Netherite just does not hit hard enough anymore. This add-on completely repurposes one of the coolest-looking blocks in the game, turning it into a massive arsenal of highly durable, fire-resistant weapons and a full set of heavy-duty armor to keep you completely safe in the Nether.
Heavy-Hitting Arsenal
When it comes to raw damage output, this pack gives you a ton of brutal combat options to choose from. You can stick to the more traditional Crying Obsidian Swords or the high-durability long swords, but the real stars of the show are the massive Battle Axes. Wielding the Big Crying Obsidian Battle Axe gives you an insane ten points of damage per swing, making it the hardest-hitting weapon in the entire add-on. The creator balanced this massive power spike by applying a slowness effect while you hold the axes, meaning you have to totally trade your movement speed for that absolutely devastating chunk damage.
Crafting and Armor Meta
Forging this gear actually feels like a proper vanilla progression step rather than just tossing some random ores together. You have to break down solid Crying Obsidian blocks inside a stonecutter to get your base shards, which you then combine with items like blaze rods, gold, and diamonds to craft your base items. From there, you use a Smithing Table to upgrade your standard obsidian gear into the supreme Crying Obsidian tier, functioning exactly like the vanilla Netherite upgrade system. Once you craft the full armor set, you get a massive thirty-two points of protection that is fully fire-resistant, highly durable, and completely compatible with all of your vanilla armor trims.
