Fear of Darkness Mod
Fear of Darkness ties a damage-over-time script directly to the engine's light level checks during the night cycle. If your character stands in chunks with a light level of zero, the script starts ticking down your health pool. You have to physically pathfind between active light sources or place blocks that emit light to reset the damage timer.
State Checks and Audio
The add-on also hooks custom audio events to the zero-light trigger. When your coordinates register no ambient or block light, the client loops custom ambient sound files over the vanilla audio channels. Because the system relies purely on reading native block light states instead of spawning hidden hostile entities to attack you, it avoids adding unnecessary entity-tracking load to the server, keeping TPS stable on multiplayer worlds.
Installation:
— Download McPack
— Install McAddon or McPack files, just open it for this;
— Select new textures in the settings;
— Done.
