The TR’s Simple Guns Addon replaces standard vanilla bows with a custom 3D firearms registry. Instead of using standard Minecraft arrows, this pack runs four specific guns: the Magnum, M9, TMP, and a Sawed-Off shotgun. Each weapon pulls from a custom ammunition pool like 9mm or 12-gauge shells. The pack handles camera recoil, reload animations, and magazine sizes natively through the Bedrock scripting engine. It gives server owners a functional modern combat setup without requiring heavy command block chains to track ammo counts or damage drop-off.
Workbench Integration and UI
You cannot craft these weapons in a standard crafting table. The developer built a custom Weapon Workbench block that opens a dedicated UI screen for forging guns and ammo. Because it uses a completely separate menu system, you are strictly required to turn on the Beta APIs and Custom UI experimental toggles in your server properties. If you generate the world without those toggles active, the custom workbench block will break and players will not be able to interact with it. Admins would then have to rely entirely on console commands to spawn the items, which ruins standard survival progression.
Performance and TPS Impact
Running custom raycasting and camera kickback scripts puts direct strain on the server tick thread. The weapon models themselves are low-poly, meaning client-side FPS stays stable even on mobile devices. However, the TMP submachine gun fires extremely fast. When multiple players spam the TMP or the Sawed-Off shotgun in a loaded chunk, the server has to calculate dozens of custom bullet trajectories and hit-detection events per second. High-end dedicated servers can chew through the math, but Realms running on standard hardware will experience noticeable TPS lag and rubber-banding during heavy PvP firefights. You need to watch your player density when running this pack.
