Hydration Logic Mod — a full thirst-and-water-quality system that makes survival feel harsher and smarter, with a visible hydration bar, risky drinking, and command-based difficulty tuning.

Hydration Logic Mod adds a real thirst loop to Minecraft Bedrock by putting a hydration bar right above your hotbar in the Actionbar, and it forces you to actually think about how you move and where you travel. Thirst drains over time, but it drains faster when you sprint, and it gets even more punishing if you’re hanging out in the Nether. That means your usual “run everywhere, fix later” playstyle starts costing you. If you ignore it and your thirst hits 0%, the mod doesn’t just nag you—your character gets Slowness and Nausea and you’ll start taking damage over time, so you’re basically forced to stop, recover, and play smarter instead of brute-forcing every trip.

The water quality system is where the mod becomes a little scary in a good way. You can drink straight from natural sources like rivers or ponds by sneaking while you’re in the water, but it’s a gamble. There’s a chance you get Poison and Nausea, so chugging random water in a panic can easily backfire and make your situation worse. Regular water bottles are safer in the moment because they do recover thirst, but they can still mess you up with a food poisoning risk that applies Hunger. The clean option is Purified Water, and it’s simple: you purify it by smelting a Water Bottle in a Furnace. The payoff is big too, because Purified Water recovers 50% thirst and is 100% safe, so it becomes the “real plan” item once you’re past the early scramble.

Hydration Logic Mod also makes normal food and drink choices matter by letting a bunch of vanilla items restore thirst in specific amounts. A Milk Bucket gives you 20%, stews and soups give 25%, fruits like apples or melon give 15%, and berries give 5%, so even small snacks can help you stabilize before you start getting punished. A standard Water Bottle restores 30% but still carries that sickness risk, while Purified Water stays the best recovery at 50% with no danger attached. And if you want to tailor the challenge for your world, you can change difficulty on the fly with chat commands by typing !hydration. Easy locks thirst at 100% so it never decreases, normal runs at 0.5x speed for a relaxed survival feel, hard is the standard drain rate, and extreme pushes it to 1.5x for a hardcore vibe where planning your water becomes part of every trip.
