For building and farming, the finesse move is using the gentle pull to steer animals into pens or tug wandering villagers back toward a safe house without boats and rails. You can also clean up dropped items after a big dig by sweeping the area with a quick pull instead of running circles mashing pick-up. On servers and Realms, read the room and the rules. This is S-tier for PvP peel plays—yoink a pursuer off a teammate, shove a shield user out of position, or create breathing space on a staircase—but griefing livestock or tossing players into the void will get you benched fast. Some anti-cheat plugins side-eye weird movement, so test in a sandbox before you bring it to the main world.

A couple of rhythm tips so it feels buttery: keep your sensitivity a notch lower than your usual PvP setting for steadier “holds,” use short flicks to reacquire if the target slips the lock, and resist the spam. One controlled pull, one clean throw is better than jittery half-grabs that burn your window.
