More Melee Mod — Ditch the default blade and fight on your terms with tools that hit, shove, and stun in totally different ways.
Forget the one-speed sword routine. This pack hands you a bench full of close-quarters options, each with its own rhythm, so every encounter becomes a choice instead of a habit. The metal bat is pure crowd control: quick to ready, loud on impact, and perfect for clearing breathing room when zombies stack at a doorway. You won’t always delete a target in one swing, but the knockback buys you space to eat, swap, or step outside for a cleaner angle. The sledge hammer flips the script—slow in the hands, heavy in the air, and built for moments when you want the fight to stop moving. Land it as the first contact in a raid wave or on the armor-stacked brute and you’ll feel the whole lane pause long enough to finish the job with something faster. The screwdriver is the opposite end of the spectrum, a pocket stabber for tight corridors, mineshafts, and ladder tops where you need quick, controlled taps without drifting off your block.
The fun is in learning tempos and building little routines around them. Run bat → swap → hammer on anything that doesn’t respect your doorway, or open with a hammer from high ground, then chase with light hits while the group is still reeling. In caves, keep the screwdriver on slot two for those moments a skeleton steps into your face; you’ll tag twice, backpedal one tile, and reset before chip damage stacks. Against ranged mobs on open flats, the bat’s shove funnels archers into terrain where their shots clip; if you see a clean line toward a ravine or cactus, angle your swing and let the landscape do part of the work. None of this needs numbers or fancy UI—just a feel for weight and the discipline to pick the right head for the job.
Build your kit like you build tools. Craft a “travel set” for scouting runs where stamina and positioning matter more than raw damage, and a “siege set” for village defenses and bastions where one wrong push snowballs. Keep spare food beside the heavy gear; big swings burn time between hits and you want hearts topped before you commit. On touch, drop look sensitivity a hair so diagonal approaches line up with bat arcs; on controller or keyboard, bind quick-swap close to sprint so you can hop from bat to hammer without thinking. In co-op, call roles—one player gathers with bat control, one lands sledge stuns, one cleans with fast pokes—and watch how cleanly waves evaporate when everyone plays their tempo. It still feels like Minecraft—blocks, timing, positioning—but now every hallway and hilltop is a small decision tree you get to solve with the right piece of metal.
