Dragon Mounts Mod — turn the Ender Dragon egg from a flex trophy into eight hatchable dragons you can raise, tame, and eventually ride.
Dragon Mounts Mod is basically the “post-End game should feel cooler” fix for Minecraft Bedrock / MCPE. You know that moment where you finally beat the Ender Dragon, grab the egg, and then it just sits there forever like a decoration you’re scared to move? This add-on flips that whole vibe. The Dragon Egg becomes your starting point, and it makes going to the End feel like it actually unlocks something big: eight different dragons that you can hatch, grow up, and ride once they’re ready. It gives the egg a real purpose instead of being a museum piece.
The loop is pretty straightforward, but it feels like a mini project in your world. You get started after killing the Ender Dragon to obtain the Dragon Egg. When you’re ready to hatch, you pick a good spot, place the egg block, and right click it to start the hatching process. It takes a while, so it’s not a “spawn it and instantly ride” thing—you’re raising a creature, not pulling a vehicle out of storage. That wait time actually makes it fun because you end up building around it: a little pen, a safe area, maybe a dedicated dragon corner at your base where it feels like something special is happening.
Once the dragon is grown up, you tame it with any meat. After that it behaves like a real companion: it follows you and protects you like other pets, so it’s not just a mount, it’s backup. You can also command your tamed dragon to lay down or stand up by interacting with it, which is perfect for keeping it out of the way when you’re building or sorting storage. Then comes the riding step. To ride a tamed dragon, you use a saddle on it, and after that you interact with it without holding an action item. The mod also calls out raw fish as part of the ride setup, so you’re preparing supplies like you would for any serious travel setup in survival.
Keeping your dragon alive is part of the deal too. If it gets hurt, you heal it by feeding raw fish, chicken, beef, or porkchop for four hearts, or rotten flesh for two hearts. That’s honestly a nice touch because it means you can sustain your dragon with normal survival food routes, not some rare “dragon medicine” item that forces grinding. When you’re in motion, you control the dragon with the arrow keys, so once you’re mounted, it’s meant to feel like you’re actually piloting something powerful instead of just sitting on a cosmetic ride.
One important warning the mod is loud аbout: you have to play the Dragon Mounts add-ons by themselves, not together. So treat each Dragon Mounts add-on as its own setup, keep your world clean, and don’t stack them like a bundle. If you want your End reward to feel like a real upgrade and not just a trophy room item, Dragon Mounts Mod turns that victory into an ongoing survival flex you can actually use.
