The Hidden Years Squared: Governor at the Skyline addon basically takes your standard survival world and flips it into a massive, story-driven RPG. Instead of just grinding for iron and diamonds, you are working through a totally revamped progression system. You start off relying on basic early-game materials like bone and stone, but eventually, you scale all the way up through custom late-game ores like Mithril, Crystal, and the absolute highest tier, Originite. It completely fleshes out the sandbox by adding a huge arsenal of new gear, including heavy-hitting sledgehammers, quick daggers, and even utility tools like saws and crowbars.
Class Progression and Artifacts
The entire gameplay loop feels totally different from vanilla because you actually get to pick a dedicated career path. Everyone starts out as a basic Traveler, but as you grind through the custom story chapters and in-depth quests, you slowly unlock advanced classes with incredibly powerful skills. On top of the new classes, the developer built a completely custom Artifact system. You get dedicated slots for your head, body, hands, feet, and even special runes to completely customize your build. You can swap these artifacts out on the fly using the custom Occultus Watch menu, giving you total control over your loadout right before you step into a massive boss arena.
Economy and Ruby Magic
The economy and magic systems are also completely overhauled to fit the massive RPG scale. Standard villager trades have been heavily rebalanced to accommodate four brand-new currencies, which you can easily convert and store like a bank using that same Occultus Watch to completely protect your assets. Once you have your gear and economy sorted, you can dive deep into the new fantasy mechanics that heavily rely on Rubies as a central node to unlock different magical abilities. You are going to need all of those new skills and weapons too, because the add-on introduces a ton of brand-new enemies and massive bosses that drop incredibly rich loot when you finally manage to take them down.
