Advanced Dynamic Lights Addon

Mods / Mods 26 [1.26]

Spamming torches everywhere just to see the bottom of a dark ravine gets incredibly tedious, especially when you are running low on coal. This add-on completely fixes that by bringing true dynamic lighting to Bedrock Edition without requiring any experimental toggles or disabling your achievements. Instead of having to leave a permanent trail of blocks everywhere you go, you can just hold a light source and the area around you will instantly illuminate as you move.

Hands-Free Caving
The biggest game-changer here is the seamless offhand integration. The creator added a brilliant quality-of-life feature where if you simply "use" a light source while looking away from a block, it instantly snaps right into your offhand. That means you can hold a torch, a lantern, or even a glowing sea pickle in your left hand while keeping your main hand entirely free for a pickaxe or a sword. It completely changes how you navigate deep caves, and the lighting engine is super smooth—you get absolutely no annoying light flickering whether you are sprinting, swimming, or crawling through a one-by-one tunnel.

A More Immersive World
The dynamic lighting is not just limited to standard torches, either. The developer made sure practically every glowing item in the game works, right down to the different copper lantern oxidation stages and froglights. They even applied the mechanic directly to the environment itself. Mobs like Blazes, Magma Cubes, and Glow Squids now naturally cast their own light as they roam around. Even better, if a hostile mob catches on fire, it literally becomes a walking light source, making the entire world feel incredibly immersive and alive during nighttime combat.
