Big Boy Locomotive Addon

Mods / Mods 26 [1.26]

The Big Boy Locomotive .mcaddon completely bypasses the limitations of clunky vanilla minecart rails by injecting a massive, fully drivable steam engine model directly into your Bedrock world. Because of the sheer scale of the historic train, the addon doesn't force the geometry into a single, laggy entity hitbox. Instead, it utilizes a modular multi-entity setup, requiring you to separately execute /summon hp:bigboy_locomotive for the main engine and /summon hp:bigboy_tender for the coal car to get the full rig operational on your map.

Driving Physics and Damage Mechanics
Under the hood, the train's movement runs on the Gibonz System 42 vehicle framework, which handles the complex physics and seating capacity calculations required to move massive custom entities across your world. The locomotive is not just an invincible prop—it features a hardcoded 20-point health pool tied directly to dynamic visual damage states. If your train takes too many hits from creepers or PVP crossfire, the model actively degrades. Dropping into critical condition (2 HP or lower) triggers heavy smoke particles that trail the vehicle while it moves, forcing you to kill the engine and spam a custom Wrench item that restores exactly 1 HP per click until the chassis is patched up.

Optimization and World Setup
Because this behavior pack relies heavily on injecting massive 3D geometry, complex multi-entity coupling, and custom damage scripts into the game registry, you absolutely must toggle on the required Experimental Gameplay features in your world settings before applying the global resources. Dragging a massive, multi-part entity across active chunk borders is inherently resource-intensive for the Bedrock engine. While the Gibonz framework keeps the actual driving logic relatively lightweight, spawning multiple Big Boys on a heavily populated multiplayer realm will inevitably drag down server TPS. To prevent massive client-side frame drops on mobile devices or lower-end consoles, it is highly recommended to limit the number of active trains running simultaneously, even if you are hosting on a high-end Windows PC.
