Mob Selector Mod — flip a few settings and decide exactly which mobs are allowed in your world instead of letting the game choose the chaos for you.
Mob Selector Mod is all about control. Instead of picking between full Peaceful or full Survival, you can finally land somewhere in the middle that actually fits how you like to play. Maybe you’re tired of Creepers blowing up your builds but still want zombies, skeletons, and spiders for drops and XP. Maybe you love villagers and iron golems but cannot stand vexes flying through walls. With this addon, you don’t have to accept all or nothing. You open the Mob Selector menu while you’re in Creative and holding a book, tick off the mobs you don’t want, and from that point on your world feels hand-tuned to your taste.
The way it works in practice is super simple. You set up your survival world, hop into Creative for a second, grab a book, and that book becomes your admin panel. As long as you’re the one holding it, you can bring up the Mob Selector menu and decide which mobs are disabled. Once you turn something off, you just stop running into it as you play. No extra commands to remember, no weird scripting knowledge required. You can start with a pretty chill setup, then slowly flip more mobs back on as you gear up and want a tougher game. Or do the opposite: start normal, then turn down the most annoying stuff once you’ve built something worth protecting.
This kind of control is huge for long-term worlds, especially on Realms and multiplayer servers. You can build a kid-friendly or builder-focused world where Creepers and phantoms are gone but animals, villagers, and basic hostile mobs are still around to keep things from feeling empty. Or you can create challenge presets: one world where only undead mobs exist, another where flying threats are disabled but everything else is fair game. Once your settings are saved, players just join and play; they don’t need to touch the menu at all. It becomes part of the world’s identity, like a built-in ruleset everyone shares.
Over time, Mob Selector Mod makes it really hard to go back to the default all-or-nothing difficulty options. You realize how nice it is to build a massive base without worrying about Creepers sneaking up behind you, or to grind caves without dealing with a specific mob you hate. At the same time, you don’t have to kill the game’s tension completely by locking everything to Peaceful. You get to keep combat, loot, and adventure, just with the exact roster of mobs you actually want in your Minecraft Bedrock world.
