Most Bedrock horror add-ons try to scare you by instantly dropping a loud, high-damage monster right behind you. The Broken Script takes the exact opposite approach. It is an incredibly slow-burn, psychological horror experience designed specifically to make you paranoid over a long period of time. For the first few in-game days, you might just notice subtle anomalies, a creepy VHS visual overlay, or strange random ambient events. But eventually, the mod ramps up into complete chaos, introducing terrifying stalker entities and a strict moon corruption mechanic that actively alters your environment. You absolutely cannot install this on a survival world you care about. The creator explicitly warns that the entities in this add-on will actively destroy your buildings, violently grief your chunks, and even use custom scripts to forcibly kick you from your own game.
Because this add-on completely hijacks the game engine to execute server kick commands, generate infinite maze dimensions, and randomly manipulate the terrain, it relies on extremely heavy behavior scripts. As a direct result, Xbox Live achievements are permanently disabled the second you activate this pack on a world. Getting it to actually work also requires some mandatory setup in your options menu before you hit play. You absolutely must toggle on the Beta APIs Experimental Gameplay feature. If you skip that developer toggle, the advanced anomaly scripts will completely fail to initialize, and the custom configuration item used to manage things like the VHS overlay simply will not function.
When it comes to performance, you need to be realistic about what your device can handle. The background scripts are constantly running checks for moon corruption, randomly triggering atmospheric anomalies, and calculating active block griefing. If you are playing on a modern console or a solid PC, the psychological tension holds up beautifully without stuttering. However, if you are running this on an older budget smartphone, you are going to feel the strain. The heavy use of full-screen overlays, sudden forced structure generation, and script-heavy chunk destruction can cause massive lag spikes and frame drops, especially when an entity decides to start ripping apart your base. Play it with headphones, but only on a completely disposable world.
