Backpacks Mod — the one time extra inventory space doesn’t feel like cheating, it just feels smart.
Backpacks Mod basically gives you a portable storage system that actually fits Bedrock survival instead of acting like some weird menu backpack from another game. You wear the pack in your off-hand slot, so it feels like a real piece of gear, not a magic void chest. Drop it on the ground, smack it, and it jumps straight onto your off-hand. If you’re already wearing one, the old pack pops back out so you can swap or stash it. No experimental toggles, achievements stay on, and as long as you’re on 1.21.60 or newer you’re good to go, which makes this an easy addition for long-term worlds and Realms.
The real fun starts once you open the upgrade menu. You can either place the backpack and sneak-interact, or just hold it in your hand and interact with it to bring up the interface. From there, you slowly turn a basic bag into a late-game utility piece. Extra Storage lets you add pages inside the backpack, so instead of shoving random junk into your hotbar and spamming chests back home, you just flip arrows between internal pages and keep the adventure going. It feels amazing on mining trips: ores, blocks, food, tools, all tucked into a single item you’re actually wearing.
Then there’s the Magnet upgrade, which quietly spoils you. Once you buy it from the upgrade menu, you can toggle it on or off and just let drops slide toward you instead of running around scooping every piece by hand. It’s huge in mob farms, tree chopping sessions, or post-fight cleanup. After that, the Security Lock turns the pack into your personal vault. The moment you buy it, you’re set as the owner. Locked mode means nobody else can open or pick it up, which is perfect for servers where you don’t want your stuff “disappearing” when you log off. If you do flip it to unlocked, it’s on you—now anyone can get in.
Auto-Sort is the polish that makes Backpacks Mod feel finished. Once you unlock it, you can place the backpack, open the menu, and clean up that messy page in one click, sorting by name or by amount. It stacks things properly and makes big hauls of loot actually manageable. Put all of that together and you get a backpack system that respects survival rules, keeps achievements, and still lets you play like a mobile storage goblin with tidy pages, item magnet, personal lock, and a pack that never really leaves your side.
