PatPat Addon

Mods / Mods 26 [1.26]

Minecraft gives you plenty of ways to interact with the world, but almost all of them boil down to either attacking something or feeding it. The PatPat Addon introduces a much more playful, expressive mechanic to survival by letting you physically pet almost any creature—or friend—you come across. With an empty hand, you simply crouch and strike the target. Instead of dealing damage or triggering aggro, a hand icon appears overhead, the mob squishes down slightly under the touch, and a distinct pat sound plays for everyone nearby. It works across practically every living entity in the game, meaning you can show some love to your pet wolf, mess around with a villager, gently tap an unsuspecting creeper, or pat your friends on the head while hanging around base. If you find the hit trigger awkward, you can easily swap the control to a right-click or mobile screen-hold instead.

Because the addon alters default entity interactions, triggers custom model squishing, and introduces real-time visual markers, it operates through Bedrock's behavior and resource pack pipeline. Loading it onto a world or realm means you will need to enable the experimental gameplay toggles so the background scripts function properly, which naturally locks your Xbox Live achievements for that save file. The upside is how cleanly the developer implemented the interface. Typing /voxen:patpat pulls up a full configuration menu that works without needing operator cheats, and every player on the server manages their own settings independently. You can restrict targets to only tamed pets or players, adjust sound volume, toggle the subtle camera shake when someone pats your character, or completely disable the "Pat Me" option if you want to prevent friends from spamming it on you. There is even a toggle to pat hostile mobs mid-fight while still dealing standard attack damage.

Visual mods built around constant player-to-mob interactions can easily cause desync or bog down a server's tick rate if they spawn persistent entities. Fortunately, the backend code here is lean and well-contained. The squish animations and floating hand sprites trigger client-side, play out their quick timing cycle, and clean up instantly without leaving lingering data in the world’s memory. Even in an active multiplayer hub where multiple people are constantly petting farm animals, guard dogs, and each other, the world runs without stuttering or input delay. The controls translate naturally across touchscreen gestures, controllers, and mouse clicks, making it a great low-stress addition to any casual survival realm.
